WASHINGTON, July 30, 2020 — Due to recent media reports concerning maps used in a Diagnostic Trade Integration Study published by the World Bank in 2010, we seek to clarify that the World Bank does not pass judgment on or endorse geographical or political boundaries, as clearly stated in the Study’s disclaimer—a standard World Bank disclaimer:

“The boundaries, colors, denominations, and other information shown on any map in this work do not imply any judgment on the part of the World Bank concerning the legal status of any territory or the endorsement or acceptance of such boundaries.”
