PRESS RELEASE October 8, 2017

Inspection Panel - Amaravati Sustainable Capital City Development Project

WASHINGTON, October 8, 2017 - The Inspection Panel is an independent complaints mechanism for people and communities who believe that they have been, or are likely to be, adversely affected by a World Bank-funded project. In accordance with Inspection Panel process, any recommendation and request to investigate is only made public after it has been considered and decided upon by the World Bank Executive Board of Directors.

The Report and Recommendation on a Request for Inspection - India: Amaravati Sustainable Capital City Development Project was inadvertently published in the World Bank’s website prior to the Board’s consideration. The Corporate Secretariat acknowledges this unfortunate administrative error and has taken immediate action to correct it. The Inspection Panel's Report will be made publicly available following the Board's decision on the Panel's recommendation.
