WASHINGTON, October 1, 2015 –The World Bank Group issued the following statement today on the appointment of J. James Spinner as the new Sanctions Board Chair:
"The World Bank Group welcomes Mr. J. James Spinner as the new Chair of the Sanctions Board. Mr. Spinner, a U.S. national, has served as a member of the Sanctions Board since 2013.
An expert in international law and development, Mr. Spinner had a lengthy career at the Inter-American Development Bank and served as its General Counsel from 2000 until his retirement in 2011.
The World Bank's Executive Directors have appointed Mr. Spinner to serve as Sanctions Board Chair effective October 1, 2015."
