The World Bank announced today that it intends to prepay an outstanding yen public bond issue, the 6.6 percent Bonds of 1985 - Thirty-Second Series, at its next interest payment date of January 10, 1993 (as this due date falls on a Sunday in Japan, the payment date will be on January 11, 1993). The aggregate amount to be prepaid to investors is Japanese yen 50,000 million (about $409 million), plus a prepayment premium of 2.0 percent of that amount (yen 1,000 million).
