The World Bank today announced a private placement offering in Switzerland of CHF 200 million (about US$151.2 million equivalent). The 10-year notes, which have a bullet maturity, carry a 6-3/4 percent coupon and are priced at 101 3/8 percent for a contractual yield of 6.45 percent on a semi-annual equivalent basis. The notes will mature on October 8, 2002.
The underwriting group, which is lead-managed by Union Bank of Switzerland with Banque Paribas (Suisse) as joint-lead manager, consists of Swiss banks and a group of foreign banks based in Switzerland.
