World Bank Announces Private Placement in Japan

The World Bank has issued 10-year bonds totaling US$ 100 million for private placement in Japan. The bonds carry an interest rate of 9.04 percent a year, payable annually, and are priced at par, for a semi-annual equivalent yield of 8.84 percent. They have a final maturity of October 28, 1998.

The Bank of Tokyo, Ltd. arranged this private placement for the World Bank.
