The World Bank announced today an issue of $300 million in two-year U.S. Dollar Bonds offered in markets outside the United States. The bonds, to bear interest at the rate of 6.78 percent per annum, payable semi-annually, were offered at par on February 10, 1987 to central banks, other governmental institutions and international organizations. Forty-eight institutions subscribed to the issue. A similar issue in the aggregate principal amount of $291 million matured on March 15, 1987.
