World Bank Borrows 300 Million Dutch Guilders in the Netherlands

On Tuesday, February 12, the World Bank signed in Washington, D.C., the documentation for a Dutch Guilder bond issue of £. 300 million (US$82.2 million equivalent). This new issue will be dated March 15, 1985 and has a final maturity of 10 years. It carries an annual coupon of 8.25% and an issue price of par. The issue will be offered for public subscription from February 13 through 19. It is underwritten by a syndicate of Dutch and foreign banks headed by Algemene Rank Nederland.

The issue is repayable at par in five annual installments of £. 60 million each beginning in 1991. The bonds to be repaid will be drawn by lot. Application will be made to list the bonds on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.

This is the 15th public offering of World Bank bonds in The Netherlands. Including the current issue, the total amount outstanding on Dutch Guilder bonds issued by the World Bank is £. 2,268 million (US$622 million equivalent) in 11 issues.
