Jobs - A Path to Prosperity in South Asia
jcrdescription
Every year, about 16 million people enter the job market in South Asia, but only about 10 million can find work. The World Bank Group has one ultimate goal: to help countries build economies that turn growth into local jobs and unlock opportunities. Our strategy focuses on investing in the foundational physical and human infrastructure for jobs, promoting a business-enabling environment, and mobilizing private capital to create jobs at scale. We are putting this strategy to work across South Asia – in Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka – with a focus on women and youth.
