Since the early 2000s, the global aid architecture has undergone a significant transformation, evolving without a clear blueprint in place. While financial flows to developing countries have grown, current aid practices have largely remained unchanged since World War II. However, these financial flows are becoming increasingly fragmented, which undermines the effectiveness of aid. The International Development Association (IDA) plays a crucial role in addressing these challenges. With its unique advantages, the IDA integrates and rebalances various development approaches within a coherent framework.
