World Bank Vice President for East Asia and the Pacific (EAP) Axel van Trotsenburg visited Tokyo for the first time since his appointment on February 1. Tokyo Office organized a breakfast meeting with PNOWB, Japan. The Vice President briefed participants on EAP’s strategic framework and partnership with Japan, particularly in Myanmar, Disaster Risk Management and Global Health. Participants included Mr. Koumura, President of PNOWB, Japan and Deputy President of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), and Mr. Maeda, former Minister on Land, Infrastructure and Transport as well as MPs newly elected in the general election last December.
