- Overview
As the world faces compounding crises – from climate change and fragility to rising debt and shrinking development budgets – the question of how multilateral development banks generate, deploy, and scale knowledge has never been more urgent. At a time when financing alone is no longer sufficient, the ability to turn evidence into practical, scalable solutions is becoming an increasingly important driver of development impact.
In a conversation with ODI Global Chief Executive Sara Pantuliano, Paschal Donohoe, World Bank Group Managing Director and Chief Knowledge Officer, will discuss how the World Bank Group is evolving its approach to generating, curating, and applying knowledge, and strengthening partnerships to support collective responses to development challenges.
The discussion will also explore the broader reform agenda across multilateral development banks, including how institutions must adapt to remain fit for purpose. A particular focus will be placed on IDA — the World Bank’s fund for the poorest countries — and how it can continue responding to rising global needs.
Taking place alongside the Global Partnerships Conference in London, the event will bring together policymakers, development practitioners, researchers, civil society representatives, and investors for a discussion on the future of global cooperation and development finance.
Spaces are limited and registration is encouraged.
