Description: Early Market Engagement for the Rehabilitation, Reinforcement and Extension of the MV And LV Electricity Distribution Networks in the Urban Centre Of Kindia and the Rehabilitation of the Donkea-Kindia Line
The populations of the city of Kindia are confronted with problems of coverage and quality of electrical energy. This situation has led to the development of makeshift electricity networks whose voltage at the end of the line is out of the norm and which cause disruptions in the distribution network with high technical losses.
Today, with the rehabilitation and reinforcement of the Kindia source substation, which has increased from 15 to 100MVA, we have the opportunity to extend the networks.
The development objective of the project is to improve the living conditions of the population as well as the productivity of the beneficiary companies, through access to regular, reliable and less expensive energy services.
Specifically, the project will:
Facilitate access to reliable and sustainable energy services for households, basic social services and businesses;
Strengthen the capacities of public actors in the electricity subsector, in particular Electricité de Guinée (EDG-SA) and the Ministry of Energy
The work is distributed as follows:
• The Rehabilitation and Extension of the MV and LV distribution networks of the city of Kindia;
• And the reinforcement of the 15kV Donkéa - Kindia line;
The work is planned to be carried out via an International Request for Bids (RFB), which is the subject of this notice.
The expected results are as follows:
• Rehabilitation, reinforcement and extension of the MV and LV distribution networks of the city of Kindia and the reinforcement of the 15kV Donkéa - Kindia line, in particular:
• The construction of 64.89 km of 20 kV above-ground main lines in Almelec 148 mm², from both the Kindia source substation and the Donkéa hydroelectric power plant;
• The construction of 117.9 km of 20 kV MV branch lines in Almelec 54.6 mm²;
• The construction of 904 km of LV lines, including 11,301 public lighting homes;
• The construction of 178 H61 type MV/LV transformer stations and 136 H59 type transformer stations;
• The completion of 50,569 connections, including the supply and installation of metering equipment, including 16,837 new connections and 33,732 connections to be regularized.
