Description: The objectives of this early market engagement opportunity is to: 1) Assess market interest in the proposed project; 2) Gather feedback on key project requirements and opportunities; 3) Identify potential private sector bidders/ suppliers; 4) Maximize the participation of qualified firms while respecting the principles of transparency, fairness and competition.

 

Key Activities in the Proposed Contracts include:  1) Upgrading of Gorusinghe – Chandrauta (GC) section of the East-West Highway and associated bridges [Ch. 640+000 Km to Ch. 659+200 Km]; 2) Phase 1 - Upgrading Works: Upgrading of existing roads from 2-Lanes to 4 Lanes and Service Lanes, Structures, Bridges, etc. including Defect Notification Period. 3) Phase 2 - Performance Based Maintenance Works: Maintenance works consisting of all activities to be carried out to achieve and keep the road assets as defined in the PBM Specifications.

  1. Construction of Tinau Bridge and Approach Roads (Design and Build) at Ch. Km 589+000 along Mahendra Highway at Butwal

• Design, Construction and Remedying any defects of the works for two numbers of 2-lane new bridges, each approx. 240m long between abutments, over Tinau River at Butwal along Mahendra (E-W) Highway on the upstream and downstream sides of the existing bridge.

• Construction of approximately 980 m long 6-lane approach roads.

• Environment and Social Assessment of Tinau River Bridge and Approach Roads in accordance with GON’s Environment Protection Act – 2076 and Environment Protection Regulation – 2077, as well as ESMP as per the World Bank ESF – 2017.
