- Overview
Human rights have been an important feature of development policy and programming since the end of the Cold War, encompassing a broad range of actors, going beyond a narrow definition of donors to include development banks and international organizations as well as non-governmental organizations. Many multilateral and bilateral donor agencies have adopted policies on human rights over the past decades or embedded human rights principles into their policies.
Presenting lessons learned from the 2024 report "Integrating Human Rights into Development: Law, Policy, and Practice," this session will focus on integrating human rights into development practices to achieve sustainable outcomes, especially in the context of global crises. It will showcase innovative legal solutions that promote transparency and inclusion. It will also share insights from development actors’ experience across various fields in creating cohesive strategies for navigating constraints and complex challenges.
