- Overview
The World Bank is the largest multilateral development bank (MDB) and India is its largest client. The Bank finances about US $4 Billion to US $5 Billion each year in India, while globally it finances projects worth US $65 billion each year. All these projects involve extensive procurement of goods, works and services, offering tremendous business opportunities to manufacturers, suppliers, contractors, and consultants.
The World Bank is organizing a seminar on November 4, 2025, with the following objectives:
a. Providing awareness to potential Indian bidders of the business potential in World Bank financed projects (in India as well as in other countries)
b. Build their capacity in submission of responsive bids if they wish to participate in World Bank funded tenders; and
c. Providing awareness about latest changes in World Bank’s procurement procedures.
A high-level delegation from World Bank headquarters will be visiting India on this occasion. They will be available to meet with selected companies on November 3 (full day) and November 4 (post lunch) to discuss any specific query, particularly on how to help Indian companies participate in opportunities in other countries.
