Together with the World Bank Group and the Southern African Development Community (SADC), the Government of Eswatini, through its National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA), is hosting the DRM FORUM 2025: SADC Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction & Regional Drought Resilience Workshop.

This landmark event will convene government officials, NGOs, private sector leaders, academics, and community representatives to share knowledge, develop policies, and build capacity for managing drought and other climate-related hazards, to work in collaboration to strengthen regional collaboration on disaster risk reduction and climate resilience.

Through plenary sessions, technical workshops, and expert panels, the event will promote proactive strategies for risk governance, early warning systems, and climate adaptation, helping transition the region from crisis response to long-term resilience building. Highlights of the forum include a celebration of local drought champions including a community-led art project on drought resilience, and the launch of Eswatini’s Centre of Excellence on Drought Resilience, which will serve as a hub for technical research, policy innovation, and regional cooperation.
