The Government of the Republic of Congo, with the support of the World Bank under PRACAC, is considering the rehabilitation and extension of the Port of Yoro in Brazzaville. This strategic infrastructure will contribute to the strengthening of river logistics, regional integration, and local and sub-regional economic development.
As part of the preparation of the procurement procedure in Design-Build mode, a preliminary consultation is organized to exchange with potential bidders, national or international firms in the sector in order to refine the technical specifications, identify opportunities and collect their feedback on technical, logistical, environmental, social and financial risks in order to optimize the structuring of the project before Launch of procurement procedures.
The contract will cover the rehabilitation and construction of the Yoro port site (formerly Yoro Thiam) in design-build mode, and will include:
-Topographical, geotechnical, hydraulic, architectural, environmental and social studies;
-Detailed technical design of two intervention zones (Zone 1 and Zone 2) and the access road;
-Rehabilitation and extension of existing platforms with sheet pile structures;
-Development of release areas for river vessels;
-Construction of port infrastructure: administrative building, storage sheds, cold chain, boreholes, roads and utilities, lighting, digital networks;
-Development of a commercial platform to relocate informal vendors and organize logistics activities (design and construction of the market in zone 2 and the development of temporary wharves as relocation spaces);
-Development and widening of the access road to the site, with drainage devices and road safety.
