Co-organized by World Bank and JETRO Institute of Developing Economies

At a critical juncture when Africa faces unprecedented challenges in achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs) by multifaceted crises such as climate change, food insecurity, pandemics and conflicts, the global aid architecture is undergoing significant transformation.

This thematic event explored four mega trends that are reshaping the aid architecture: the proliferation of aid providers, fragmentation of donor financed projects, low leveraging of donor contributions, and circumvention of recipient governments. The session delved into how these trends impact development outcomes in Africa and discuss practical recommendations to reform aid systems for maximum SDG impact.
