The upcoming Regional CReCER 2025 Conference, to be held from May 13th to 14th in Lima, Peru, is presented as a keystone event to promote transparency and accountability, which are essential for driving sustainable development and economic growth in the region. In a context marked by slow growth, climate vulnerability, and fiscal difficulties, the conference seeks to bring together government leaders, regulators, accounting professionals, and international experts under the theme "Accelerating Sustainability and Innovation for Economic Growth across Latin America and the Caribbean” to foster dialogue and collaboration.
CReCER 2025’s main goal is to disseminate knowledge and promote the exchange of experiences around high-quality financial and sustainability information, which is crucial for informed decision-making and for generating trust from investors, consumers, and citizens. The conference will focus on three inter-related topics: highlighting the pivotal role of sustainability reporting in facilitating the transition to a green economy; exploring how artificial intelligence and data analytics can revolutionize internal controls, financial reporting, and external audits; and addressing the opportunities and challenges for the accounting profession in the face of an evolving business and risk landscape.
CReCER, initiated in 2007, is a flagship knowledge and learning event resulting from the collaboration between global, regional, and local partners. It is jointly organized by the Global Partners, including the World Bank Group, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the International Federation of Accountants and the Global Public Policy Committee (GPPC) made up of representatives from the six largest international accounting networks. The conference not only seeks to generate policy recommendations for the implementation of sustainability reporting and the responsible use of AI, but also to strengthen existing networks and partnerships.
