Leveraging Nature-Based Solutions for Resilience and Adaptation

This World Bank event at COP29 will highlight the importance of integrating nature-based solutions (NBS) into climate adaptation strategies, showcasing successful projects and initiatives, examples of scaling up NBS.

Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) leverage natural systems to address the impacts of climate change. These solutions not only enhance resilience but also contribute to biodiversity conservation, sustainable livelihoods, and climate mitigation. This event highlighted the importance of integrating NBS into climate adaptation strategies, showcasing successful projects and initiatives, examples of scaling up NBS. The focus has been on channeling finance, mechanisms, and opportunities towards local solutions for integrating NBS as part of development and climate finance, showcasing successful projects, challenges and examples from diverse sectors.
