World Water Week 2024 is set to center around the theme, ‘Bridging Borders: Water for a Peaceful and Sustainable Future’. This theme calls upon participants to acknowledge the interconnectedness of communities and nations both regionally and globally. It emphasizes the imperative of collaborative efforts in paving the way towards a future that is both peaceful and sustainable.
The focal point of World Water Week 2024 will be water cooperation aimed at fostering peace and security across various dimensions: human security, food and nutrition security, ecosystem security, energy security, and the intricate relationships among these domains.
Organized annually by the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI), World Water Week selects a singular theme to drive and reflect the global agenda. The event seeks to provide an inclusive and action-oriented platform and aims to attract individuals committed to leveraging water as a catalyst for positive change, promoting effective water cooperation, and advancing opportunities for transformative impact worldwide.
This year, World Bank Water is one of the four Key Collaborating Partners (KCPs) of the 2024 SIWI World Water Week. KCPs help widen the reach of the Week, enrich the discussions, and encourage participation through their involvement. Join us in one of the 17 World Bank Group led or co-convened sessions or 9 seminar sessions, either in person or virtual. Come visit the booth or online in the virtual expo and meet some of our staff. We look forward to engaging with you.
