This panel discussion assessed the trade- and climate-related risks that a more fragmented world poses for developing countries and provide policy reform recommendations. Specifically, participants discussed how climate change and policies to mitigate it are redistributing comparative advantages and reshaping countries’ trade patterns. Emphasis was placed on how this evolving trade landscape poses a unique challenge for low- and middle-income countries, which must harness trade to generate jobs and growth while also meeting their climate goals.
