We're thrilled to announce the highly anticipated 4th Development Impact Conference, a collaborative effort between the World Bank DIME and the KDI School of Public Policy and Management. Mark your calendars for November 2-3, 2023, as we gather in the dynamic city of Washington DC. This event serves as a nexus for groundbreaking research, fostering dialogue among policymakers, development practitioners, donors, and researchers, all united by a shared goal: to catalyze impactful decisions in development policies. We will consider papers on the following topics:
🌍 Refugee, Migration, and Forced Displacement
🌿 Climate Change, Energy, Environment, and Pollution
🏥 Social Protection, Education, and Health
🌾 Agriculture and Food Security
🏛 Accountable and Responsive Governance
👩🤝👩 Gender and Inclusive Development
💰 Value for Money Analysis
The past conference programs and selected papers can be found for 2022 and 2021.
We also invite graduate students and postdoc researchers to submit a research paper (or slides with preliminary findings) for a lightning session, i.e., a 5-10 minute short presentation for each speaker.
Submission Requirements
All submissions must be in English. Only complete paper drafts will be considered for the main conference sessions. Graduate students without a full paper are encouraged to submit slides with preliminary findings for lightning sessions. Submissions should be sent to dahyeonjeong@worldbank.org by September 20, 2023. The conference will be fully in-person and the remote presentations will not be allowed. The selection process will be based on paper quality and relevance to the conference topics.
Keynote Speaker
Jenny C. Aker, Professor of Development Economics at Tufts University, will deliver the keynote address.
