Combating the learning crisis requires scalable and cost-effective innovations, such as the movies an mobiles intervention in northern Nigeria.” This event aims to identify World Bank-financed projects interested in exploring the integration of mobile-based edtech solutions (gamified open-source apps for home learning) and edutainment (development-focused entertainment media delivered through broadcasts, home-based methods, community and school approaches) in challenging settings.

The event will consist of a policy session on May 31 from 12:00pm to 1:30pm bringing together researchers and practitioners, to be followed by practitioner-facilitated “clinics” (Edtech clinic from 1:40 to 3:00pm and Edutainment clinic from 3:10pm to 4:30pm) delving into implementation details and answering questions from project teams interested in these approaches. For country-based staff, the clinics will be repeated the following day (June 1, 8:00am to 10:50am).
