9th Global Affordable Housing Conference

The 9th Global Affordable Housing Conference, held on May 31- June 2, 2023 at the World Bank Group Headquarters in Washington D.C., brought together high-level officials, practitioners, successful entrepreneurs, and academicians from developed countries and emerging markets to provide a unique platform to share information, learn about the latest innovation and network with peers. This year’s conference theme was “Looking ahead: unlocking access to affordable, green and resilient housing through innovation”. While the need for massive investment in the affordable housing sector have never been higher, countries all over the world are facing difficult macroeconomics conditions, and households have a lower purchasing power, while having to deal with increased construction costs and face the impact of climate change. To make a significant, and lasting impact in addressing the affordable housing gap, we must look for innovative ways to build and finance resilient, green affordable housing.
