Coastal and Mangroves Management for Climate Resilience

The session will highlight how Bangladesh, Indonesia, and West Africa, in partnership with the World Bank, have been implementing large-scale solutions to mitigate damages to coastal communities and infrastructures in the face of climate change.

The session will focus on how these countries are adopting nature-based solutions, building infrastructure, strengthening institutions, modifying spatial plans, and providing incentives to local communities to enhance resilience. It will also show how nature-based solutions, large-scale mangrove management, can also contribute to climate mitigation significantly.

Finally, the session will showcase how the World Bank has mobilized financial and technical support and convened partners to support countries in South Asia, East Asia and West Africa and discuss the road ahead.
