Technical Knowledge Exchange on Resilient Transport

May 8-12, 2017

Tokyo, Japan

  • On May 8 – 12, 2017, the World Bank Resilient Transport Community of Practice (CoP), Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR), and the World Bank Disaster Risk Management Hub in Tokyo (the Hub) convened clients and TTLs from 16 countries together with experts from Japan and New Zealand for a Technical Knowledge Exchange (TKX) on Resilient Transport at the Hub. The aim of the TKX was to connect current and future World Bank transport investments with the information, tools, and technical expertise that exist in Japan and other countries in resilient transport. A wide range of practitioners from Japan and across the globe – including national and local governments, the private sector, academia, and civil society organizations – shared good practices and lessons learned on how they have increased the resilience of transport networks.
