Webinar: Global Briefing on Habitat III
June 21, 2016National Press Club, Washington, D.C.

What is this once-every-20-year United Nations conference on cities all about?

Across the planet, city leaders and urban experts are meeting, debating, and developing a “New Urban Agenda” for the cities of today’s fast-growing urban world, to be discussed and adopted at Habitat III.

Media from all continents are invited to join a global briefing on June 21st for the inside story on the United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development— or Habitat III – a conference on the future of the world’s cities, scheduled for Quito, Ecuador, October 17–20.  This UN conference takes place every 20 years, and was first convened in 1976, in Vancouver, Canada (Habitat I); then in 1996, in Istanbul, Turkey (Habitat II).

The global briefing is sponsored by the World Bank, UN Habitat, and the independent news site Citiscope, which has been delivering comprehensive coverage of the Habitat III process.

Moderator: Christopher Swope – Managing Editor, Citiscope

Commentators:
