Some 80 companies attended a seminar held on March 12 in Chicago on “Going Global: Ways to Reduce Your Company’s Risk and Obtain Funding” organized by PSLO Gail Longmore, based at the Global Midwest Alliance, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. The event featured a keynote by Ian Solomon, Vice President for Global Engagement at the University of Chicago and former U.S. Executive Director to the World Bank Group, and representatives from the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and ExWorks Capital. The program brought together Midwest business leaders for a discussion on how U.S. companies can expand operations by exporting products and services globally, explore various financing options, and mitigate company risks when operating in emerging markets.
