The “Parliamentarians in the Field” programme, jointly organized by the Parliamentary Network (PN), World Bank and IMF, sent a delegation to Peru on 1-4 March 2015. This visit gave MPs the opportunity to discuss, exchange perspectives, and learn from each other and their respective legislative experiences. The Delegation represented six continents, and was welcomed by the Peruvian Congress, Ministries of Government, CSOs, companies which received technical and financial support from IFIs, and Senior Officials from the country offices of the World Bank and IMF. The visit allowed MPs from both donor and recipient countries to understand development cooperation in practice, as the development topics were focused on Peru’s macroeconomic success, sustainable development and social inclusion, good governance, and private sector partnerships with IFIs. This visit was particularly timely ahead of the Annual Meetings which are set to take place in Peru in October 2015.
