Doing Business 2015 Going Beyond Efficiency
Presentation of the Doing Business 2015 Report at the IESE Business School of the University of Navarra
November 11, 2014Madrid, IESE Business School

Doing Business 2015: Going Beyond Efficiency, a World Bank Group flagship publication, is the 12th in a series of annual reports measuring the regulations that enhance business activity and those that constrain it.

The Doing Business report measures the ease of doing business in 189 economies based on 11 business-related regulations, including business start-up, getting credit, getting electricity, and trading across borders. The report does not cover the full breadth of business concerns, such as security, macroeconomic stability, or corruption.

This year’s report, “Doing Business 2015: Going Beyond Efficiency” uses new data and methodology in three areas:

  • resolving insolvency
  • protecting minority investors, and
  • getting credit

Dr. Augusto Lopez Claros, Director of Global Indicators Group of the World Bank Group will present the main findings of the report Doing Business 2015, including a brief summary of the changes in the Doing Business methodology. He will highlight best practices and key trends in reforms and areas for improvement to enhance the competitiveness of a country like Spain.

Following the presentation, Professor Campos, Professor of Economy at IESE will moderate questions from the audience.

  • Doing Business 2015: Going Beyond Efficiency, a World Bank Group flagship publication, is the 12th in a series of annual reports measuring the regulations that enhance business activity and those that constrain it. Doing Business presents quantitative indicators on business regulations and the protection of property rights that can be compared across 189 economies—from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe—and over time.
  • Good practices in business regulation have evolved since the Doing Business indicators were first developed in 2003. Some changes have come, for example, as new technologies have transformed the ways governments interact with citizens and the business community. The new developments have created a need to expand and update the Doing Business methodology.
