New Growth Strategies: Delivering on their Promise?
October 14-15, 2014World Bank Group Headquarters in Washington, DC.

Following last year’s highly successful event, “Making Growth Happen: Implementing Policies for Competitive Industries”, keynoted by Joseph Stiglitz, the Trade and Competitiveness Global Practice at the World Bank Group, is organizing a follow up conference: “New Growth Strategies: Delivering on their Promise?” with keynote by Dani Rodrik.

In October this year the World Bank Group's Trade and Competitiveness Global Practice, with financial support from the Competitive Industries and Innovation Program (CIIP), is organizing a high-level conference: "New Growth Strategies: Delivering on their Promise?".  The event, successor to our last year's event titled: "Making Growth Happen. Implementing Policies for Competitive Industries," will take place on October 14-15, 2014 at World Bank Group’s Headquarters in Washington, DC.

The goal of the conference is to move from a basic advocacy discussion on structural change through government interventions, to examining the evidence and evaluating the impact new industrial policy efforts.  Research and discussion will highlight what has worked and what has not worked, how and why different outcomes may have arisen from relatively comparable interventions, using agreed metrics, measurement techniques and indicators.
