The World Bank and the Ministry of Transport organize a new workshop within the framework of ongoing Advisory Services on Strengthening Strategic Planning in the Transport Sector.

The World Bank and the Ministry of Transport organize a new workshop within the framework of ongoing Advisory Services on Strengthening Strategic Planning in the Transport Sector.

The workshop aims at allowing participants to acquire a common understanding of critical issues in the organization of public transport in the Bucharest metropolitan area.

The workshop will be an open opportunity to exchange experience, knowledge, and best practices on the organization and management of public transport authorities. The event will host group discussions to debate on ways of reorganizing transport services in Bucharest and explore possibilities for further improvements of the Bucharest Metropolitan Transport Authority.

Knowledgeable guest speakers from Madrid and Budapest will present case studies and share their experience:

- Mr. Carlos Cristóbal-Pinto, Director of External Affairs, Madrid Public Transport Authority

- Mr. Dávid Vitézy, Chief Executive Officer, Centre for Budapest Transport

Participants

The participants will be drawn from representatives of: line ministries (including the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration), Bucharest Metropolitan Transport Authority, Metrorex, RATB, CFR Passengers, CFR Infrastructure, Roads Company, Bucharest Airport, Ilfov County Council, towns and municipalities within the Ilfov County, Bucharest Municipality and Bucharest Districts.
