Jordan faces short-term challenges due to the Syrian conflict and the recent crisis in Iraq. Reforms to diversify Jordan’s energy supply in the medium term and reduce the dependence on volatile foreign aid, will be indispensable in order to reduce the large twin deficits and macroeconomic vulnerabilities.
