Rus dela Cruz is an Analyst with Market Competition topic. He first joined the Business Ready team as a summer intern in 2024 and then returned in February 2025. Before joining the World Bank,  he previously served in the Philippine Competition Commission as an economist, working on all areas of competition—market investigations, merger reviews, and policy advocacy. There, he regularly headed market studies and provided competition advice to sector regulators and other policymakers. He was also a private consultant for multinational firms and conglomerates. He has worked on a wide range of industries, including transport and logistics, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and digital platforms. Rus holds a Master of Public Policy degree from the Blavatnik School of Government at the University of Oxford and a BSc in Economics from the University of the Philippines Diliman. He speaks Tagalog and English.
