Zeynep Baykal, a Turkish national, joined the Policy Indicators Group in 2025 as a Consultant with the Regulatory Efficiency team. She previously worked with the World Bank Group’s PEFA Secretariat, contributing to analytical work on climate, governance, and corruption. Before joining the World Bank, she worked on international trade and undertook graduate-level studies at Sapienza University of Rome, focusing on macroeconomic policy and financial markets. She holds an M.Sc. in Applied Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a B.Sc. in Economics from Middle East Technical University (Ankara, Turkey). She speaks Turkish.
