Yeon Soo Kim is the Poverty Economist for Sri Lanka since July 2018. She has led or contributed to analytical works on topics including poverty measurement and monitoring, systematic country diagnostics, welfare impact of crisis, housing markets and welfare, informality and spatial disparities.
She has previously worked on Egypt, Yemen, Russia and the European Union accession countries. Prior to joining the World Bank, she worked as a Research Fellow at the Korea Development Institute (KDI) where she contributed to analytical and policy issues in the areas of labor markets and health equity. Yeon Soo holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park.
