Taufila Nyamadzabo


Taufila Nyamadzabo, a Botswana national, serves as the Alternate Executive Director for Africa Group I (Botswana, Burundi, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, The Gambia, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe) at the World Bank Group, Washington, DC since November 2018.

Prior to this appointment, Mr. Nyamadzbo has held various high-level positions at the Botswana Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, including Secretary for Economic and Financial Policy, Secretary for Economic Affairs, Deputy Permanent Secretary Economic Affairs, Director of Policy Analysis, Director of Macroeconomic Planning, Director of Development Programmes.

Mr. Nyamadzabo holds a Ph.D. in Economics from American University in Washington, DC, a Masters’ Degree of Arts in Economics from the University of Delaware in Newark, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Statistics, University of Botswana.
