Sébastien Dessus is program leader, in charge of macroeconomic, governance, poverty, trade & competitiveness, and finance & markets programs for South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho, Swaziland, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. He previously served as program leader for Sahelian countries, as lead economist for Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea, as Sr. Country Economist for Lebanon and West Bank and Gaza, and as Sr. Economist in the World Bank Chief Economist office. Prior to joining the World Bank, he served as Administrator at the OECD Development Center. Sebastien Dessus holds a PhD in economics from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University, and has published extensively in academic journals and books on issues related to growth, trade, macroeconomic management, environment, poverty, political economy and general equilibrium modeling.
