Richard Montgomery is the World Bank Group Executive Director representing the United Kingdom.
Prior to this appointment, Mr. Montgomery held various positions in the development field at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), former Department of International Development (DFID), including Country Director for Nigeria and for Pakistan; Director for Asia, Caribbean & Overseas Territories Division; and Deputy Head in DFID’s Top Management Group. He has also served in Zambia, Bangladesh, and India.
In earlier years, he was a Lecturer in Development Studies a Swansea University and a researcher on micro-finance at Manchester University.
Mr. Montgomery holds a BA and Ph.D. in Social Anthropology from Cambridge University, United Kingdom.
