Namrata Thapar is the World Bank Group Global Director for Metals and Minerals. She brings deep technical expertise and a proven track record in mobilizing private capital, structuring impactful solutions, engaging across public-private stakeholders, and delivering results with strong governance and disciplined action. She is based in Washington.
Previously, Namrata served as Senior Manager, Solutions & Impact, World Bank Group. There, Ms. Thapar led the International Finance Corporations (IFC’s) private sector investments and strategic client engagements in the minerals and metals sector. In her role, she promoted the growth of the minerals & metals sector with a focus on sustainability and development impact across the emerging markets. She oversees a diversified commodity portfolio which includes investments in equity, mezzanine, and senior debt.
Namrata began her career with the WBG in 1996 in the Information Technology Vice Presidency and has held various positions throughout her career.
