Mathew Verghis

Mathew Verghis is the Country Director for Nigeria  since July 1st, 2025. He brings more than two decades of experience in global economic policy and development, having joined the World Bank in 1999. He has held senior roles across Africa, East Asia, Europe, Central Asia, and most recently served as Regional Practice Director for Prosperity in the South Asia Region, based in Washington, D.C.
