Lilla Fordos, a Hungarian national, has been with the Regulatory Efficiency team since 2016, working on various indicators including Business Entry, Construction, and Utility Connections (water, electricity, and internet). Over the years, she has taken on a wide range of roles—from developing and leading indicators, process mapping, and analytical work, to authoring topic chapters, co-leading projects, and supervising team members—all with the aim of supporting evidence-based reforms and improving the regulatory environment at the subnational level. Lilla holds a master’s degree in International Relations and International Economics from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and an undergraduate degree in Political Science and German Studies from Clemson University in South Carolina. Prior to joining the World Bank, she worked as a researcher for the International Law Department at SAIS, focusing on business investment and its environmental impact in Africa. She also worked at the German Marshall Fund, where she contributed to projects on democratization and civil society in Central and Eastern Europe, the Balkans, and North Africa.
