Lailee J. Moghtader

Lailee J. Moghtader is the Executive Director for the United States since April 2026. Mrs. Moghtader previously served as Senior Advisor to the Executive Director in the same office.

Prior to joining the WBG Board, Mrs. Moghtader served as Acting Assistant Secretary for Trade and Development, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Trade and Investment, Director, Office of Trade and Investment at the U.S. Department of the Treasury (2016-2026). She also held positions at the Inter-American Development Bank as Counselor to the U.S. Executive Director (2014-2016) and International Economist at the U.S. Department of Treasury (2002-2014).
