Judith Anne Elizabeth Green was appointed World Bank Group Country Manager for Malaysia, based in Kuala Lumpur, representing the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, The International Finance Corporation and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency, effective September 1, 2024. Her position unifies country-level leadership across the World Bank Group to better support Malaysia’s public and private sector priorities. While heading the World Bank Group representation in Malaysia, Ms. Green continues to lead IFC’s operations in Pacific Islands, Australia & New Zealand.
Judith, a Jamaican national, was previously IFC’s Country Manager, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Pacific Islands, Australia & New Zealand. In this role Judith worked closely with industry and WB colleagues to increase private sector investments across the region and manage a large advisory services program.
Judith has also served as IFC’s Country Manager for the Caribbean overseeing IFC’s operations in the 14 member countries in the region, including Haiti and Dominican Republic, with responsibility for managing and expanding IFC’s operations in that sub-region. Judith took external service leave from IFC for a few years (2013 – 2016) to head the Government of Jamaica’s Coordination and Implementation Unit, which was responsible for overseeing the successful implementation of the 2013 four-year Extended Fund Facility with the International Monetary Fund. A career banker, Judith worked at several financial institutions focused on corporate finance and global loan capital markets.
Judith holds a BSc in Accounting from the University of the West Indies and is a fellow of both the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants Jamaica.
