Ian Gordon Blackadder

Gordon Blackadder is a Machine Learning Scientist with the World Bank’s Development Data Group.

Previously, at Microsoft, Gordon trained deep learning models for use by 400 million users and developed tools for Copilot that use Large Language Models. Before that, at ASOS, he trained deep learning based recommendations models that likely increased site-wide revenue by over £100 million. 

Gordon has a Ph.D. in Physics from Brown University, RI, USA and an M.Phys. in Theoretical Physics from the University of St Andrews, UK.
