Gbemisola Oseni

Program Manager, Development Data Group

Gbemisola “Mimi” Oseni is a Program Manager for the Living Standards Measurement Study (LSMS), the World Bank’s flagship household survey program housed at the Development Data Group. She manages the LSMS Data Production and Advisory Services program and coordinates the provision of technical assistance, capacity building activities, and survey clinics for National Statistical Offices (NSOs) and World Bank global practices to support all aspects of survey design and implementation. She has led methodological studies and the production of LSMS guidebooks to disseminate best practices and standards for household survey operations.

Mimi’s research interests are in the areas of poverty, education, labor, agriculture, and rural development, as well as data collection methods and measurement issues. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from American University, Washington DC, and a M.A. in Economics from Howard University, Washington, DC.

    Living Standards Measurement Study

    The Living Standards Measurement Study (LSMS) and the Living Standards Measurement Study-Integrated Surveys on Agriculture (LSMS-ISA) were established to explore ways of improving the type and quality of household data collected by statistical offices in developing countries. The goal is to foster increased use of household data as a basis for policy decisionmaking.
