Cristina Isabel Panasco Santos

Cristina Panasco Santos, a Portuguese national, is the Operations Manager for Southern Cone Countries (Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay), currently serving as Acting Division Director. Previously, she was the Country Manager for Mauritania.

She has more than 20 years of experience in international development. Cristina joined the World Bank in 2006, since then, she has led various positions in this organization and supervised education, health and social protection strategic work in the Africa and South Asia regions for almost a decade.

Cristina has a Ph.D. in international and comparative education from the University College London and worked in academia in England for several years. She is fluent in French, English, Spanish, and Portuguese, her native language.
