Burak Turkgulu, a Turkish national, joined the Policy Indicators Group in 2024 as a Data Specialist with the Regulatory Efficiency team. Before joining DECIG, he worked as a World Bank consultant on analytical projects in infrastructure economics and finance. He is a co-author of the Infrastructure Vice Presidency’s flagship report, Off the Books: Understanding and Mitigating Fiscal Risks of Infrastructure, as well as several research articles. Turkgulu’s expertise also spans political and institutional economics and macroeconomics. He holds an MA in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park, and Boğaziçi University (Istanbul, Türkiye), and a BS in Industrial Engineering from Boğaziçi University. He speaks Turkish.
